After winning the local science fair as a high school sophomore with
a realistic model of a Portland cement manufacturing plant, Chris knew
he wanted to continue in the construction world. He graduated from
Arizona State University, with a Civil Engineering degree—and a
National NCAA gymnastics championship—and soon formed Chris G. Evans
Inc. which years later would become Evans Southwest.
The passion Chris has for construction carries into all facets of his
life. He was the founding director of the Scottsdale Commercial Bank
(later Thunderbird Bank). His gymnastics accomplishments landed him in
the Arizona State University Sports Hall of Fame, and these days he
remains an avid gym-goer. He’s also an instrument-rated pilot who
brings an aviator’s level-headedness to his business. The question he
continuously asks of himself and his clients is, “Is it fair and
reasonable.” After 50 years, it still remains both a promise and a
benchmark that informs every relationship and project.
