Scope Of Work
ISS completed a stormwater retrofit on a 4-acre site that is home to a Catholic church and school. Located in the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Creek Watershed, the property’s mainly impervious surface discharged runoff directly to the public storm sewer pipe. The parcel has 174,173 square feet of gross area and 144,464 square feet of impervious area.
A majority of the property is pavement, contributing approximately 3.5 acres of impervious area discharged runoff directly to the PWD separate sewer prior to retrofit. The project included the design and installation of two lush bio-infiltration basins and three subsurface infiltration basins to collect runoff from a total of 86,000 square feet of directly connected impervious area. The stormwater management system manages 131,000 gallons per storm, and approximately 2,900,000 gallons of runoff are treated annually.
ISS’ maintenance has a 45-year O&M contract with the property owner to ensure the stormwater management system continues to function according to design.
