The United States Army Corp of Engineers procured Edifice’s Design+Build services to replace the existing exterior doors for Building 48, Fort McNair in , D.C. Edifice was tasked with the removal and in-kind replacement of damaged existing entry doors and side-lights, wood trim, framing, and hardware dating from the early 1900’s. Edifice replaced the doors with new assemblies and architectural features that more closely resemble the original design. Each of the seven new large solid wooden panel doors were retrofitted within the building exterior, reframed with trim and new sidelights, primed, painted, and affixed with new hardware. Edifice also installed each door with new electronic pass card readers to upgrade security measures for the facility.
