Scope Of Work
This was a development of nine acres at Miami International Airport for the United States Department of Agriculture and a build-out of the 65,000-sf Veterinary Services building that accomodates all import and export animals as well as the USDA management staff. The construction is composite concrete / masonry with prestressed, precast concrete roof joists that are typical of South Florida commerical construction (due to hurricane-resistant design critera). This was the first of its kind to be developed by the USDA and subsequent facilities were built accross the country based on this model.
