Charles Engineering Co.

 J. Lawrence Lears started the company with a contract to build 3 service stations. At his retirement he reflected that he probably built a service station in every commercial area of Baltimore City and its surrounding counties.

Charles Engineering Company is now headed by Stephen Skeen, who has been with the company for over thirty years. He has been involved with every aspect of the company, starting as job foreman and advancing to project manager, estimator and president.

We have two project managers on staff with over 50 years of combined experience and a small labor force to expedite the completion time on projects. The relationship we have with our sub-contractors is one of Charles Engineering’s biggest assets. They all have vast amounts of experience in the industry and in some cases have worked with us for over thirty years. These relationships help the various projects move smoothly toward timely completion without the sacrifice of quality.
