Our Story

Commerce Electrical Contracting Corp. was established in December of 2006 by its owner and President of the company Mr. Dimitrios Tomboris as a Sub-S Corporation. From its modest beginning to the present day, Commerce has grown and evolved into a highly efficient firm with over 20 professionals and employees. Commerce is licensed (# 11515) for electrical work and licensed (# 368447) for security and fire alarm systems. Commerce is fully insured and bonded (1MM per project, 4MM aggregate). Commerce is a member of USWU Local #363 (Co. # 20444-2421). Commerce is pre-qualified under the mentor program with NYCSCA with an approved LBE status and registered with NYC-FMS Vendor No. 0002831946. Further, Commerce is pre-qualified under the MTA mentor program and has a pending application for LBE-SBS certification with NYC Department of Small Business. Further Commerce is registered vendor the Port Authority of NY/NJ No.177537. The Company’s corporate offices are located in College Point, NY. It is anticipated that gross sales this year will exceed $3.5 million. Commerce is registered with US Small Business Administration.

The company offers design/build services in all levels of electrical construction – from high-end multi-unit residential and commercial to industrial and municipal.

Commerce’s scope of work is focused based on the past and present experience of its key employees. It encompasses a broad spectrum of installations including: schools, churches, public housing, public works, prime residential properties, hospitals, medical facilities, water and waste water treatment facilities, correctional facilities, military facilities, office buildings, major retail stores, utilities and industrial facilities. In addition the company has also completed designs and installations for NYCDDC, NYCSCA, NYCBOE, CUNY, DASNY, NYCHA, DP&R, and various other city and state agencies.

Commerce has expanded its range of operations and is very active in pursuing the growing “Green” building initiative. These initiatives encompass installations of BMS and control systems incorporated in all new construction in this growing market.

Customer service, professionalism and safety are stressed throughout Commerce Electrical Contracting Corp. Our motto, “For All your Current Needs”, is backed with a one-year guarantee on our workmanship for all services and design-build work. Commerce provides 24-hour, 7 day per week emergency services to our customers.

Commerce has implemented internal Quality Control-Quality Assurance, Safety Procedures, and Operations Manuals to assure the highest quality of installations and services. All Commerce employees, field and office, are required to sign a strictly enforced company Code of Ethics.

Competitive, prompt and accurate estimation is performed utilizing the latest, state-of-the-art, software technology Trimble/Accubid LiveCount-Pro), and overlaid with personal review by our highly seasoned and experienced professionals. Our modern systems provide for efficient project management and job costing. Comparable, integrated CAD systems in our design/build services unit offer the ultimate in service and efficiency to our clients. Similarly, our accounting department prides itself on its speed and accuracy.
