Erika Massie holds a MEd from the University of MN, Duluth, and a BA in environmental science and Latin American studies from Bates College. She has travelled the world as an educational consultant, specializing in leadership training, professional development, cross-cultural facilitation, second language acquisition, curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and nonprofit outreach--and has lived in 11 different states and 5 countries. Prior to Scrum Alliance, she has worked as the Education Specialist for the Professional Ski & Snowboard Instructors Association, as an Outreach Director and translator for Denver Public Schools, and as Special Projects Director for the Mariposa DR Foundation (supporting education for girls and women in the Dominican Republic to reduce global poverty). She is bilingual in English and Spanish, and holds certifications in learning management, urban education, Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, Designing Learning, and Training from the Back of the Room. Erika joined the Education team at Scrum Alliance as a Program Manager in August, 2015, moving into the role of Global Learning Manager in September, 2015 and to the role of Director of Global Learning and Assessment in June, 2017. Until relocating to Colorado, Erika split her time between Moab, Utah and the north coast of the Dominican Republic. Erika is an avid skier, an enthusiast of modern art and architecture, and is an active volunteer for Latino youth outreach and violence prevention in urban Denver.
Lisa Reeder is the Director of Global Program Development at Scrum Alliance. Before joining Scrum Alliance in 2011, she worked in the managed healthcare, pharmaceutical and banking industries. She is an experienced business professional focused on making Scrum Alliance THE best place for members to come and learn about Scrum.
She enjoys her Director of Education role where she focuses on improving current certifications and bringing new Scrum Alliance products to market. Lisa is a CSM, CSPO and CSP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.

Shannon Carter is the Vice President of Education at Scrum Alliance, where she organizes the team responsible for Scrum Alliance’s industry-leading education and certification programs. She is passionate about transforming the world of work by creating and supporting a career path for Scrum and Agile practitioners that will help them thrive in rewarding, enriching work environments.
Shannon actively speaks, publishes and advises organizations on product development, governance and strategy to support learning and credentialing goals. She was most recently published in the December 2016 issue of the Institute for Certification Excellence Digest on the separation of certification and education.
Prior to joining Scrum Alliance, Carter was the chief executive officer of the Competency & Credentialing Institute, the industry leader in certification, competency assessment and competency-based education for more than 40,000 surgical health-care professionals committed to lifelong learning. She also preciously served in various leadership positions with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
She is a Certified Association Executive and has served on the boards of directors for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the American Society of Training Development Certification Institute (ASTD-CI). She currently sits on the board of directors for the Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE) and on the CAE Commission.
Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in organizational development from the University of San Francisco and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Northeastern University.
Shannon is a native of southern California, but has called Denver home for nearly 20 years. She and her husband, Ron, have a 17-year old daughter, Katie, who will be graduating high school and heading to college next year.
Renata is the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at Scrum Alliance, where she is a hands-on leader with international experience in Fortune 500, consulting, advertising agency and not-for-profit associations. Renata has managed global marketing and market development teams for over 20 years, delivering successful programs in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. She has also created transformational customer engagement initiatives using methodologies such as Thinking and Scrum.
