With a rich history that dates back 35 years, Westwood Contractors, Inc. is an award-winning, national general contractor and recognized leader in the commercial construction services industry. Originally chartered in 1983 as a local general contractor in Fort Worth, Texas, Westwood’s metamorphosis into a national industry leader began a few years later when chairman and chief executive officer Robert D. Benda took the helm—bringing with him years of national retail experience, a unique focus on specialization and an inherent understanding about what it takes to build great partnerships. He also knew that retailers had the need for consistency in store design, appearance, and contractor performance no matter where in the U.S. they planned to build stores. Under Bob’s leadership Westwood has become registered or licensed to perform work in 48 states within the U.S. (with the exceptions of Hawaii and West Virginia), as well as in the District of Columbia, and it has developed a reputation as a straightforward, dependable and diligent general contractor.
