S & S Construction Services holds General Contractors Licenses in Washington and Oregon. Our main lines of business are overhead doors and wood framing. We install new as well as repair and maintain many types of door systems including but not limited to: Rolling Steel Doors, Sectional Doors and Operators, Grilles & Shutters, and Rolling Steel Fire Doors. We frame new structures as well as repair & remodel existing structures on both commercial and residential scales including: Single Family Homes, Multi-Family Dwellings, Outbuildings, and more. 

Hi, 

I'm Eric Simonson, sole member of S&S Construction Services LLC. At age 14, I began working in construction during the summer for my uncle as a Mason Hod Carrier in Duluth MN. I moved to the West Coast at age 19 with the intention of going back to school to be a Machinist. Instead, I stayed and worked as a residential and commercial roofer for 3 years; '95-'98 in the field.  While on the west, I met the only girl I couldn't imagine living without and married her in '97. We moved to Duluth MN in '98; I went to 4 years of carpenter apprenticeship training and worked for a union construction company till 2005. From 2005 to 2010, I owned and operated a roofing company in Duluth, MN. I got out of the roofing business in 2010 due to the hard times during the recession. One day in October 2010, I drove to the company I had previously worked for and asked for a job. They hired me back and I worked for 4 great years installing counter shutters, fire doors, and overhead doors in the new schools; and overhead doors in the oil fields in North Dakota. The last year I worked there I was the service manager for the overhead door portion of the business, which was both challenging and enjoyable.

Well, life cant be perfect... My wife decided she really wanted to move back to SW Washington, where she grew up and her family lives.  After much consideration and worry, we decided to try to sell our house and try it out on the west. It took awhile, but our house did sell. As I settled in on the west with my wife and kids, I worked at 3 different companies in the first 6 months as a Finish Carpenter, Roofer, and then a Framer. I couldn't find a door company who was willing to pay what it cost to support my family. After framing houses for six months, my boss asked if I was interested in buying his tools and going on my own. I was hesitant to go into another business but my options felt limited. I went to the bank and got a small loan, and went back to work. It has gone well! We have framed houses, shop buildings, and multi-family housing as well as installed, serviced and repaired overhead doors and dock equipment. I have been lucky in getting some really top-notch employees, who I want to see grow with my company - I know good employees make a company a good company, and if treated right, they treat you right.

 In my 23 years in construction industry, I have done a wide range of carpentry, formed concrete, welding, framing multi-family housing, siding, shingles, sheet metal, pilings, micro piles, helical piles, dock equipment, overhead doors, coiling doors, coiling fire doors, high speed doors, freezer doors and counter shutters.  I enjoy specializing in DOORS the most!  My employees love to frame and are always up to a challenge.
