About Perma Treat’s founder, Jim Toma, owned Stone Source a wholesale and retail granite, tile and stone company. Customers were constantly complaining. After about a year would come back in complaining their granite countertops or tile showers or floors were getting dull and dirty and difficult to clean. Jim knew it wasn’t the stone products he was selling but the sealing products they were using. All sealers on the market were wearing off leaving the surfaces open to dirt, stains, mold and mildew. The industry standard asked homeowners to seal their granite, stone or tile every 6 to 12 months.

On a plane ride to Phoenix he met a man who represented a sealing company having great results with commercial stone sealer in Europe. Their scientists had invented a permanent sealer. Rather than just a topcoat, this sealer worked on a molecular level to penetrate the stone surface.

Jim contacted the company and tested the new sealer. It was astonishing. “I found the way to keep my customers satisfied”.

After working with scientists here in America Jim developed a third generation stone sealing product. That product is called Perma Treat.
