Bhavesh Patel brings over 25 years of hospitality industry experience as a Certified Hotel Owner (CHO) in hotel asset management and ownership issues. He is responsible for overseeing Hotel Investment Group’s corporate functions and directing the efforts of the asset management team. With extensive experience in structuring fair and equitable agreements pertaining to hotel ownership, Bhavesh plays an active role in all contract negotiations and advises on key operational challenges, including risk mitigation, capital planning and expenditures and investor-funding capital projects. He has facilitated many deals throughout his career and is regarded as a company and industry visionary.

Growing up in virtually every aspect of the lodging industry, Darshan Patel is the Hotel Investment Group specialist in performing hotel and operational assessments as well as process improvement implementation. He is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the value of a portfolio of commercial properties, including a mix of property types, from hotels to multi-family assets. Darshan is a Certified Hotel Owner (CHO), real estate broker and licensed attorney. He is a regular legal speaker for the hospitality industry and sits on the Board of Directors for Lincoln Club, Endeavor Bank and Asian American Cultural Society.

As a former CPA who brings over 20 years of accounting experience with a multitude of ownership structures, including joint ventures, LLCs, partnerships, and corporations and is familiar with most accounting systems and reports; Scott Shadburn offers expertise in the areas of balance sheet review, audit oversight, contract, and loan compliance, working capital and creative cost savings/risk mitigation strategies. He actively has participated in both financing and refinancing efforts for multiple portfolios and is experience in property transactions including accounting related due diligence, financial statement reconciliation and review of pro-rations. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

As a senior member of Hotel investment Group, Victoria Baker oversees special research and analytical projects in support of the asset management team and company. Victoria offers expertise in loan compliance reporting, property tax management, audit support oversight and complex financial reporting. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and certificates in Finance.

With over 11 years of managing hotels, Rahul Prajapati provides operational oversight for the hotel properties under Hotel Investment Group’s asset managed portfolio. Using performance reporting, he is responsible for ensuring financial benchmarks are met for market share indices, net operating income and the hotel’s business plan. He ensures each hotel is maximizing the guest and associate experience and ensures compliance with brand hotel operating policies and procedures. Rahul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

As Operations Support, Raj Choksi is responsible for assisting the asset management team with financial analysis, performance benchmarking and market research aimed at identifying opportunities for enhancing hotel operating performance and asset value. He also assists Darshan Patel daily as his client ambassador for all administration and communication. Raj has worked in hotel operations for several years and assists with Hotel Investment Group’s asset managed portfolio. He specializes in brand standard compliance and other operational benchmarks.

Esperanza Collier brings 20 years hospitality and group sales experience to Hotel Investment Group. As an Operations and Sales Manager, she is actively engaged with several of the properties under Hotel Investment Group’s asset managed portfolio, attending monthly owner meetings, preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports and presentations. She specializes in corporate marketing, advertising, and group sales.

Serving the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, Jay North’s experience includes project management, pre-opening, opening and project management of residential, commercial and hospitality projects, as well as thorough operations, development, conversions, and owner liaison experience. Jay focuses on asset development and management, and project delivery and pre-openings. He has an MBA with focus in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Matthew is responsible for research, planning, and implementing new programs and protocols at Hotel Investment Group. He oversees the development of new procedures for great efficiency at the hotel level. He leads from the initial planning phase to implementation.

Mariela Rodriguez is a member of Hotel Investment Group’s accounting team, responsible for supporting the Accounting Department, actively assisting with multiple aspects of corporate and client accounting, including accounts payables and ownership-entity reporting. In addition, she undertakes special research projects in support of the accounting and asset management teams. She holds a degree in General Law Studies from Universidad Automona de Baja California, Mexico.

Stephanie provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. She prepares and maintains Hotel Investment Group’s accounting records, general ledger postings and statements. Identifies, analyzes, and tracksaccounting patterns at both the hotel and corporate level.

Alan Smith serves as in-house counsel for Hotel Investment Group. He specializes in both legal and transactional Hospitality matters. Alan has more than 40 years of experience in contracts, residential and commercial real estate, and deal negotiation. Alan is a member of the California Bar Association and has served on many economic and civic organizations in his tenure. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego.

Huy’s responsibilities include organizing meetings, communicating with vendors and maintaining appropriate filing systems. He prepares regularly scheduled hotel and corporate level reports. He’s assists executive assistants to handle requests and queries from hotel managers.

As an Executive Assistant/Office Manager at Hotel Investment Group, Lacy Harrison provides a full range of administrative support to the Hotel Investment Group team. She is responsible for travel planning, coordination of the company calendar, organization of company social events and volunteer projects, vendor relations as well as assisting with special projects related to marketing, business development and client communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Public Relations.

Pooja Patel brings expertise in hospitality real estate analysis to Hotel Investment Group. As a Design Director, Pooja is responsible for development and maintenance of Hotel Investment Group’s business intelligence and analytics platform, as well as other modeling, analysis and market research aimed at identifying opportunities for optimizing operating performance and value across the portfolio. Pooja holds a Certification in Hotel Owners (CHO) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality & Tourism.

As a Director of Leasing, Tejal Patel provides a wide range of support to the asset management team, including on-going data management for several of the properties under Hotel Investment Group/s asset managed portfolio. She is responsible for maintaining Hotel Investment Group’s proprietary financial database, coordinating property team meetings, and assisting with various research projects, analyses, and presentation. Tejal is responsible for the portfolio long term and tenant properties – ensuring that the properties maintain financial benchmarks on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
