I grew up on a dairy farm in SW Michigan, building, inventing, and creating the necessary recreation toys and structures that allowed us to enjoy what little free time we had after farm work was completed. Hay bale forts, tree houses, wooden battleships and lunar modules gave us experience with wood and an appreciation of spatial relationships in various structures, especially timber framed haymows.
Early in my career I combined dairy farming with building construction, working with numerous talented individuals who helped me grow as a carpenter. In 1984 we relinquished the dairy farm and began focusing exclusively on many rewarding projects in the custom home building industry.
While baling wire could often be an emergency repair fix for many farm failures, our customers are normally more demanding than the everyday bovine. Our years of custom building experience enables us to creatively solve structural, mechanical, and design issues in ways that improve the building and protect the bottom line.
