Our Story

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our company, Rymax Construction LLC. Building his own construction company has been my husband's vision since he joined the Laborers Local 332 Union when he was 21 years old. When I met my husband in 2008, construction work was booming and the company he worked for was always busy. After that company fell into hard times, my husband bounced around at several other companies, but none that provided the sense of security and respect for workers that the other company had. He worked for bosses who didn't see the individual laborer, only the lump sum of money that was paid out after jobs were completed. Working conditions were sometimes poor and lay-offs came frequently.

After the birth of our son in May 2015, we decided we wanted something more for our family and for the individuals who were hard workers like my husband. And so, in December of 2016, with our own money and help from a close family-friend, we took a leap of faith and started Rymax Construction. From the name of the company, which incorporates our son Maximus, to designing T-shirts for our workers, everything is a family effort and one that we are extremely proud of.

Construction can be a lucrative business, but the bottom line is our workers. We know what it's like to have only enough money for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches around the holidays because your boss laid you off again. We know what it's like to sell a car to come up with money for bill payments. That's something we don't any other hard-working, blue collar worker to experience.

And that's why we started Rymax Construction. To provide other construction workers and their families with an opportunity to make a living that covers all those costs and more. As a union construction company, we are proud to pay our employees a wage that allows for a comfortable living. As a majority woman-owned business, we set ourselves apart in a traditionally male dominated field. Allowing individuals from all walks of life regardless of sex, age and race, the opportunity to earn a decent living.

With more than 40 years of experience amongst all of our employees, it is our hope that we can continue to make demolition great again in Philadelphia and the surroundings Tri-state Area for years to come.
