Carter & Carter Construction LLC

As the Son of the Carter & Carter duo, Collin brings with him a background complete with construction knowledge and expertise. A 2003, B.S. in Building Science, as well as, a second B.S. Degree in Finance from Auburn University launched Collin’s career path. He later returned to Auburn in 2010 completing his MBA. He started as an Estimator with Cleveland Brother’s Construction in Auburn, AL while working towards his degrees, where he became proficient in estimating and the realities of pricing and bidding a project.

After graduation, he moved to Birmingham, AL to work for Capstone Building Corporation. It was there that he worked as a Field Engineer for two multimillion dollar projects in Florida and Missouri, first developing his skills supervising trades and working on field logs. In 2004, he returned to the town of his Alma Mater to work for Charter Construction Management Co. managing both residential and mulit-family construction projects. In 2008, he and his father transitioned the to Carter & Carter Construction, where Collin now serves as President. With an unparalleled desire for excellence in all aspects of the construction process, Collin is the driving force behind Carter & Carter’s continued success.

Walter, the Father of the Carter & Carter team, brings with him over thirty years of business experience marked by a steady progression of management responsibilities leading to senior-level positions at two multimillion dollar corporations. He first began as the Director of Corporate Training for Fred’s Discount Stores in Memphis, TN, where he eventually became the Executive Vice President of Operations. After 18 years with Fred’s, he moved to Nashville, TN to continue his career with Dollar General, working first as their Vice President of Development, managing Human Resources and Corporate Communications. Within a year, he quickly became their Senior Vice President where he provided strategic oversight and control to the three VP’s in charge of warehousing, distributions, and MIS. At Dollar General, he participated in the management of the infrastructure needed to support opening more than 500 stores per year.

In 1998, Corky moved to Auburn, AL where he purchased Sylvan Learning Center. While operating Sylvan, he also began as acting CFO/COO for Charter Construction Management Co. where he oversaw the restart and completion of three multi-family construction projects. In 2008, he and Collin transitioned Charter Construction to Carter & Carter Construction, where he serves as CEO.
