We advertise as the “Original” Hardwick Fence because Hank Hardwick started Hardwick Fence Company in Maine in 1965.

In 1980, Hank moved to our historic city and opened Hardwick’s Of St Augustine. After almost 10 years in business, he returned to New England. Hank’s oldest son, Chuck, continued the Hardwick name in St Augustine as Chuck Hardwick Fence & Gates. After his unexpected passing, Chuck’s business name was sold and that business closed in the late 2000’s.

Donna Sparks, originally from Alabama, met Hank in the residential construction industry in East Tennessee. With an impressive knowledge of general contracting and a real gift for connecting with consumers, Donna was a natural fit as a partner with Hank and together they have formed an unstoppable team.

In 2010, Hank and Donna decided to make St Augustine their permanent residence and soon announced that Hardwick Fence was back and open for business. As of 2018, Hardwick Fence has grown to over 35 employees and has had the honor of being voted St Augustine’s Best Fence Company.

Now owned by Donna Sparks, Hardwick Fence exudes the warmth of her integrity, genuineness, and vibrant passion combined with Hank’s half-century of fencing experience.

Hardwick Fence offers residential, commercial, industrial, and equestrian fence sales, installation and repair. We specialize in chain link, wood, aluminum, PVC/vinyl, railings, gates, gate operation devices, and temporary fencing.
