Paul was born in Lima, Ohio in 1976 and grew up in Metropolitan Detroit. He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning and continued his academic pursuit in Boston, earning his Masters Degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Throughout his academic career, Paul went across North America, South America and Europe to travel and study. After graduating, he moved to Chicago where he joined Krueck + Sexton Architects. His involvement covered a range of commercial, institutional and urban design projects. His most notable project was his intimate engagement in the design and construction of the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies.
In 2008, Paul became a founding partner in SIDE Architecture, an award-winning design practice which focused on a collection of finely-tuned design projects and a large volume of developer-driven work.
Building on the exciting momentum of his work with SIDE, Paul launched ELLIPSIS, a full-service architecture and design practice, based in Chicago.
Since 2008, he’s also been deeply committed to his role as a Faculty member within the Architecture, Interior Architecture & Designed Objects programs at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
