Scope Of Work

The 120,146-square-foot Weber State University Professional Classroom Building and Central Plant expansion is the second building for the WSU Davis Campus. It contains classrooms and laboratories to accommodate nursing, electronics engineering, construction management, interior design, and other high-demand programs at WSU Davis. The new building will allow many of those programs to expand.

In addition to academic space, the university wanted students to have a home-base on this campus, so the new building includes student union space that allows students to access a variety of amenities and services. These include a large food court, event space, and a fitness area with classrooms, cardio and weight training space, lockers, and showers. Open space, optimal use of light, and interesting architectural features make the union inviting to students, giving them a comfortable space for study, relaxation, and socialization.

The new building also serves as a permanent home for the Northern Utah Academy for Math, Engineering & Science (NUAMES). The early-college high school has 450 students and plans to expand to 500. NUAMES occupies 14 classrooms during the day; WSU students use those rooms in the evenings.

The project incorporates many sustainable features to help achieve LEED Silver certification. These features were important in our completion of a separate 5,500-square-foot central chilling plant that was also included in the scope of work.
