Cianbro managed the demolition of the Bangor Auditorium and Civic Center, including abatement of all hazardous materials.

Project Details

Removed 2,500 tons of materials, including steel, concrete masonry unit (CMU) block, brick, roofing materials, and wood

Separated and disposed of more than 2,000 tons of unforeseen hazardous materials at an approved landfill without any impact on the project schedule

Removed and recycled all building materials

Trucked building material to minimize impact to the Bangor Logging Show and State Fair

Salvaged building materials and furniture for donations to the local Boy Scouts, YMCA, and Maine Central Institute

The east side of the Bangor Auditorium structure was three feet from the new Cross Insurance Center. Detailed site coordination and planning ensured the demolition was completed without any damage to the new facility.
