Andrew is a licensed CPA, with 20 years of experience in construction finance. He worked for both large public general contractors ($500 million in annual revenues) and smaller contractors, bringing the best practices of both to Verdex. His focus is on financial reporting, managing the budget and forecasting processes, and internal controls. Additionally, he is responsible for maintaining external relationships with customers and clients, financial institutions, and insurance and bonding companies.

Joey is a Certified General Contractor who previously co-owned both a commercial contracting company and an architectural design firm. Joey started his career 29 years ago on the owner/developer side of the business. Since then, he's gained progressive working experience in all facets of design, development, and construction. He has held positions as Estimator, Project Manager, VP of Construction, Marketing Director, Director of Preconstruction Services and Director of Development. In January 2020, Joey opened our office in Gainesville, Florida enabling Verdex to serve customers in the North Florida region.

With 40 years of construction experience, Rex Kirby brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified General Contractor in the state of Florida. Rex has held positions as project manager, operations manager, division manager, and regional president. In his last position, he grew the Southeast Florida presence of a large New England-based contractor from $60 million in annual revenues to over $400 million in annual revenues, making it one of the largest and most respected construction companies in South Florida.

Toby brings 26 years of industry experience to his position of VP/Managing Director to lead our West Florida team. Based out of our Tampa office, he is responsible for overall operational excellence, increasing our presence in the market, advancing Owner and Subcontractor relationships and supporting our seasoned Tampa team. Having successfully grown and operated multiple companies, Toby’s expertise at creating consensus to find solutions and engaging with people at all levels ensures Verdex’s culture of quality, responsiveness and integrity are ingrained in our West Florida operations.

Brad Stull's skills in project management, estimating, construction methods, and value engineering span over a dozen years and encompass multifamily, condo, office, retail, tenant improvement, and more. In previous positions, he was solely responsible for conceptual budgets, hard bids, negotiated GMPs, and full project management with budgets from $20 million to $80 million. Brad was also responsible for direct communication with clients, building a reputation as a consummate professional known for a high level of personal service.

Alex Smith has extensive management experience with some with the largest contractors in South Florida. As Vice President of Operations, he will manage operational oversight, establish high-quality training programs for staff, and extend efforts toward operational consistency, among other duties. Alex  started his career as a carpenter and then project engineer while earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction at the University of Florida. He is a member of the Construction Executive Association and a prior board member of the Construction Association of South Florida.

E.I. is a 26 year veteran in the construction industry. With a portfolio of projects, including multifamily, hospitality, nuclear power plants, senior living, healthcare, commercial and public/federal projects, the largest reaching $600 million in value, he is well versed in all types of construction. His expansive knowledge; operations and project management skills; and talent at team-building provide strong field leadership with a focus on quality and strong project finishes.

Lisa King has worked in the South Florida construction market for nearly 20 years, building company profiles and business opportunities. With her extensive network of strategic alliances, brand-creation skills, and experience in expanding businesses, she is a key member of the Verdex executive team. Lisa helps to set the strategic direction for the company and is responsible for developing and managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, revenue generation, and strategic partnership development. She also oversees corporate branding and marketing, manages the company reputation and culture, and leads the effort to ensure Verdex has strong representation in the industry and the community.

Terri has used her project management acumen and attention to detail to manage the financial, accounting and reporting aspects of construction companies during her 15 years in the industry. As an action-oriented and highly organized individual with excellent communication skills, she has a key role acting as the financial link between our clients, staff and vendors.

Jim brings more than 36 years of on-site experience and skills to the role of General Superintendent. His experience includes projects in the multifamily, retail, industrial, office and mixed-use sectors. Jim started his career as an electrician and provides his deep knowledge with those trades to assist reviewing plans early in the preconstruction process. In addition, he has extensive expertise in underground utilities installation and management of challenging site conditions. Jim serves on the AGC Florida East Coast Chapter Safety Committee and coordinates all safety protocols and training for our Verdex team.
