Terry founded DSI in 2002 and has successfully developed over 32
properties comprised of more than 1,400 residential units. He has
experience in architecture, construction management and real estate
development in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Terry is a
past member of the Advisory Council to the Federal Home Loan Bank of
Atlanta and currently serves on the board of directors for the Alabama
Council of Affordable and Rural Housing.
Prior to starting DSI, Terry worked with several nonprofit
organizations developing housing in Alabama, South Carolina and
Georgia. After college, he initially worked for an architectural firm
and later went on to work in design and construction management for
KinderCare Learning Centers and its affiliated companies. Terry was
instrumental in helping KinderCare build out its coast to coast
footprint during the 1980’s.
Terry’s education includes architecture at the University of
Tennessee, a B.A. and a M.P.A. from Auburn University at Montgomery as
well as various nonprofit development training programs.
