Our Story

Metropolitan Recycling was founded in 2000 with two main goals in mind, to provide our clients with an unparalleled level of integrity and professionalism that exceeds the highest standards in waste and recycling services, and to continue to invest in the newest recycling technologies that will increase landfill diversion and minimize the environmental impact of the communities we serve. As one of the largest, privately owned recycling and waste removal companies in New York City, we service more than 1,800 commercial and institutional customers throughout all five boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester. We were the first waste removal company to install solar panels on the roof of our facility, and we continue to find new ways to shift to greener technologies at our facilities. Social issues are also important to us, and in an effort to spread awareness of breast cancer, the finest truck in our fleet has been painted pink and emblazoned with the iconic ribbon of awareness. Our drivers have excellent safety records and adhere to the strictest standards that we’ve set to ensure the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. At Metropolitan Recycling, we’re striving toward a cleaner tomorrow.
