Instant Storage

Instant Storage was created in 1976. We started in Bakersfield, CA (the southern part of the San Joaquin Valley). We started to purchase container from Leasing Companies and Steamship Lines and in turn rent them to our customers. We built up an inventory of storage containers all sizes. At the time there were the standard 20' and 40' container plus a 24', 27' and 35' containers to purchase.

Construction companies became a bigger part of our business so to provide another product to our customers we modified a container into an office, complete with air conditioning (AC), a desk and drafting table with also keeping a little bit of storage.

Wanting to provide more choices to our customers we modified containers to create 10, 15, 25 and 30 containers. We expanded the business to Florida in 1988 doing the same thing.

In 2001, larger sizes became available 45', 48' and 53' containers, currently only available at Instant Storage – Bakersfield, CA. The 48' and 53' container are 8 ½'wide larger than the standard unit which is 8' wide.
