W.R. Newman & Associates, Inc is a full service general contractor/design build firm founded on the principle that a successful company is built with equal measures of professionalism, technical expertise, and commitment to client service. We offer on staff architectural design, civil/structural engineering, and comprehensive value engineering to clients throughout the United States.

Although we have diversified our skills to meet the needs of a changing marketplace we have not lost sight of the values that have made WRN thrive since our early days in rural Tennessee. At W.R. General Contracting

Being a general contractor is more than a job for us, it's serious business. Supervising construction projects is what we do best and we make sure that the client gets what they want, when they want it. At W.R. Newman we have the experience and the relationships to get the properly qualified subcontractors for your job. When we take on a job, we put ourselves in your position and demand the best out of everyone working on the project. Because of our years of experience we can eliminate problems before they happen saving you time, money, and headache.

Design/Build

Many owners choose a firm like W.R. Newman who can design a project as well as build it for a number of reasons. Avoiding delays, designing with materials in mind, less owner liability, time savings and better cost control are some of the great reasons to use a design/build firm. At W.R. Newman we have the added advantage of our principals being a licensed Architect and Engineer, so you know that your project will be professionally designed and built in the most efficient and cost effective way.

Construction Management

We understand the economics involved in a construction project and know that sometimes a client needs to cut costs by hiring someone to manage construction and taking care of everything else themselves.  W.R. Newman will gladly work with you to meet your needs, whatever our level of involvement is.  You can be sure we will treat a construction management job with just as much importance as anything else we do.

Estimating

Properly evaluating the costs involved in a project is an extremely important step in the construction process and W.R. Newman is fully qualified to estimate your project.  We work with the architects to insure that they are designing within the budget and time frame of the job.

Cost Control

Keeping the cost of a project under control requires proper supervision and management of resources. W.R. Newman knows the value of timing, coordination, choosing the right materials and methods, as well as choosing the proper size of subcontractor for the job when it comes to keeping the cost of a project under control and within your budget.

Scheduling

Keeping a project on time and on budget starts with detailed and accurate scheduling.  At W.R. Newman we use a bar charting system to maintain a thorough and updated schedule to be certain that our projects are as efficient as possible.

Value Engineering

W.R. Newman uses value engineering on almost every single job we manage.  Cutting costs using alternative methods and materials is just one way that we get the most for our client's dollar.  We work with the owner to determine the most cost and time effective solutions to achieve the same results using alternative means.

Architectural Design

Having relationships with architects allows W.R. Newman to pick the right architect for a specific job.  We have our own on staff architect who can meet your needs or we will gladly work with an outside architect and overlook the process to ensure a close relationship between the planning and the execution of your project.
