Our Story

Caliber, Inc. was formed in recognition of, and in response to, the needs of clients in the current construction market place. The owners of Caliber understand that contracting is a people based business. Our obligation is not simply to provide services but to assure those services address all the needs of our clients to the fullest extent possible.

We have combined our experience and strengths to develop a collaborative, client-focused approach to projects. Our philosophy is based on teamwork and integration, meshing contractor and owner resources to increase project knowledge, streamline the flow of information, immediately address “pains” or conflicts, and achieve project success through collaboration.

GENERAL CONTRACTING – DESIGN/BUILD CONSTRUCTION:

Caliber, Inc. is a full-service General Contractor offering multiple project delivery methods. From traditional design-bid-build contracting services, to design/build or negotiated project environments, Caliber has the experience and expertise to meet your construction needs. Our self-performance capabilities allow us to be price competitive and maintain an added level of project control. Because we recognize the expertise required to perform individual projects, Caliber’s management team builds a qualified construction team for each project by utilizing our long-established relationships with the region’s top subcontractors and vendors. Building the appropriate team, combined with our integrated management style, ensures comprehensive and successful project oversight, coordination, communication and completion.

 

INTEGRATED PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGEMENT:

Caliber defines Integrated Project/Program Management as the meshing of our industry specific systems, knowledge and expertise within an owner’s project/program management team. This facilitates a less burdensome and more streamlined flow of project information through our client’s systems. This synergistic approach enables our clients to better understand their project obligations and complete these obligations more efficiently. Our goal is to reduce the time and emotional impacts that a construction project has on our client’s organization. Integrated Project/Program Management helps educate client team members on construction- specific needs and obligations that may fall outside their normal work responsibilities and areas of expertise. Integrated Project/Program Management is a highly flexible approach that can be readily tailored to each client’s individual needs.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT:

Sound and effective Construction Management is a key component to the success of any project. Caliber understands that our clients have full time jobs managing their normal business operations. They frequently do not have the time, resources or expertise to take on the management of a major construction project. Caliber offers the systems and capabilities to manage all aspects of project planning, design and construction. We utilize a collaborative, team-oriented approach that allows our clients to continue to focus on their business operations, while remaining confident that their projects are being completed within the established time and budgetary constraints. Caliber offers several types of Construction Management services including basic CM, CM at Risk, CM Agency or GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price).

PRE-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES:

Caliber’s pre-construction service offerings are aimed at assisting our client’s decision-making and planning process in the conceptual stages of a project. Caliber understands that the earliest stages of a project are critical to ensuring project success. The use of our Integrated Project / Program management philosophy to assist in the pre-construction phase helps our clients move through these early stages more effectively and efficiently. Our system facilitates the defining of the appropriate project scope and budget, enabling our clients to achieve maximum value for their business operations. We realize clients invest significant effort prior to making a decision to pursue a project or program, and it is important to have the right information to support this decision. We help provide the information needed for a client’s capital budgeting process, long-term master planning, mitigation of impacts to operations and reduced “time to market” for new projects through the following pre-construction capabilities:

NEGOTIATED CONSTRUCTION SERVICES:

Caliber’s primary goal is to provide maximum value to our clients for every dollar they spend. We believe that in this industry, you get what you pay for. Our clients’ interests are not always served by selecting services based on price alone. To that end, Caliber will negotiate with our clients to provide the most appropriate scope of services at the price that will optimize the value to the client. Our Negotiated Construction Services provide the necessary flexibility and open conversation to put together a custom project package that results in maximum value to our clients.

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION:

Sustainable Construction refers to high performance “green” buildings that are environmentally responsible and resource efficient throughout their entire life cycle. Green building design and construction reduces the overall impact of building construction on the environment and human health through the use of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) best practices and the LEED certification system. The owners of Caliber, Inc. are LEED Accredited Professionals and are committed to providing sustainable construction best practices to our clients who choose to pursue green building options.

All team members’ interests are recognized and industry best practices are used to prioritize those interests and develop solutions that are in the best interests of the project.
