R3 Engraving & Signs

While R3 got its name from is founder Robert Richard Rose in 1962, today it also embodies our key attributes: Reputable, Reliable and Resourceful.  We love to take what you want to say and design and fabricate a creative quality product that meets your personal needs or business goals.

Today, R3 hosts a collection of artistic talent.  Meet our team that leads the way:

Owner, Susan Cronenwett, leads the R3 team with a design background as well as an MBA from UC Berkeley.  Previously she served as Creative Director and CFO of ARTICO, a consumer products packaging and branding company that she owned in San Francisco for over 20 years.  She loves to help companies grow through design and creative strategies.  Susan is also a quilter and has won several national awards for her work.

Master Engraver, John Thaanum, heads up our engraving department which includes rotary engraving, diamond engraving, laser engraving, sand carving (sand blasting) and hand engraving.  With an engineering background from OSU and over 22 years of engraving experience, there is a true marriage of technology and art.  He loves to create new designs as well as solve complex challenges for customers and provide items beyond their expectation.

Sign Specialist, Kevin Dawson, heads up the sign department and has been making signs and creating art for over 20 years. He oversees the large format digital printing, vehicle graphics, vinyl cutting, sign design, and custom labels.  Before coming to R3 he made signs and did graphic design in Durango, Colorado.  His philosophy is that all signs should be designed well, to fit their space and function perfectly and he works hard to make the customer happy with the final product.
