Joan P. Nix, Architect

I am an experienced architect with a passion for historic buildings. My practice includes residential, commercial and municipal structures in northern New Jersey, but the majority of my work is renovations and additions to historic and old homes. I will bring my love and understanding of old buildings to your project.

I enjoy meeting challenges and will find creative solutions to your toughest problems.  For example, I've recently tackled updating an early 1970s home’s facade to enhance its curb appeal, designed a soundproof music studio next to a heavily trafficked road, and added to houses with extremely tight zoning constraints. In addition, I've prepared all the design and construction documents for two home elevations - one after its foundation collapsed during a flood.
