Our Story

Founded in 2007 in Atlanta, GA, IBBEST / Eeson Construction is a privately owned corporation that specializes in anchor tenant interior build-out projects.
IBBEST / EESON also has an in-house electrical engineering and installations department.

M.W.B.E. Certified in New York State

Our founder and CEO began his career with the US Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees) and served overseas for 5 years before finishing his commission.
During this time, Sea was trained in and refined his knowledge in field engineering, project management, and in numerous construction and drafting programs and software.
Upon his return to civilian life, Sea started work as the operations manager for a commercial developments in Atlanta GA.
After completing this project, he formed his own general contracting company that started out doing  commercial work in the greater Atlanta area.
Word of mouth and a reputation for quality work helped Sea Chang get his foot in the door for tenant build-out projects.
As the company kept expanding to meet the demand of IBBEST / EESON's growing customer base, an opportunity arose to branch out to the NY tristate area in 2007.
Since then, IBBEST / EESON has relocated its headquarters to NY and now to NJ and continues to deliver high quality work at competitive prices with the customer's satisfaction as the top priority.
Notable projects that Eeson has completed include the Goodwill Industries corporate offices, FEDCAP Queens office, NYC Human Resource Administration, Wells Fargo, Youfit health club, Jamaica Hospital, and most recently the NYC Administration of Children's Services.
Sea Chang's extensive experience, ingenuity, and Can Do attitude permeates all members of the IBBEST / EESON team and ensures delivery of complete client satisfaction.

History

After serving for 5 years in the US Navy Construction Battalion across the world, Sea Chang got his first taste of commercial construction management with the Paragon at Satellite project in Duluth, GA.
A 26 Acres lifestyle shopping center in an expanding part of metro Atlanta, Sea Chang worked closely with the investors of the project beginning in 2005.
Originally functioning as the owners representative Operations Manager, Sea built close relationships with the main building general contractor, subcontractors, and the tenant contractors.
After the project's completion, Sea was offered several positions with many of these companies and eventually elected to join JK International Construction in 2007.

After Sea Chang joined JK Construction, the company was reformed into Eeson Construction and began a rapid growth to be able to accommodate their expanding customer base.
Sea's plan was to begin their expansion by making a name for themselves doing maintenance and repair work for large shopping centers in the greater Atlanta area.
Bringing his Can Do attitude from his experience with the Navy, property owners quickly took notice of Eeson's value and quality of work and began offering Eeson actual build-out projects.
Eventually word of mouth began to spread and Eeson found itself working on projects across the Eastern United States.
Within just a couple of years, Eeson was able to complete big-box anchor tenant build-outs in the Atlanta, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia areas.

Beginning in 2011 with a Marshalls department store at the Westview Center in Catonsville, Maryland, Sea spearheaded a concentrated effort to make a name for Eeson.
This project was a complete gut and refit of a former Value City furniture store that required extensive structural metal, concrete, and framing work.
Extra attention was paid to the finishes by Marshalls corporate representatives that were overseeing the construction.
The property owners were so impressed that they offered Eeson  to work on the Big Lots next door for the whitebox scope of work.
That in turn impressed the Big Lots representatives, who ultimately awarded Eeson the contract for the rest of the interior build-out.

This opened the door for Eeson to expand to the NY area and work several projects for government offices in Queens, NY in 2012.
These contracts numbered in the millions of dollars and cemented Eeson Construction's name in the greater tri-state area.
Throughout this time Sea Chang would shoulder more and more responsibility in an effort to continue expanding Eeson Construction's reach and scope.
Ultimately he would take over as CEO of the company beginning in 2011.

With a renewed focus that came with the change in leadership, Eeson Construction went back to its roots in retail construction with several projects in NY, NJ, PA and Maryland.

As of 2015 Eeson divided in to Eeson (General Contracting) and I B Best (Construction Management).
