Our Story

About Us

Capital American Power LLC is a family owned and operated full-service electrical company serving residential and commercial clients in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Peter Pereira, owner and Master Electrician founded the company in 2009 when the construction field was in a deep slump with the full confidence that there was no better time to help households and contractors find affordable electrical service than in dire times. From that year on, we performed new installations, repairs and preventative maintenance. The diversity of projects we have completed to date include residential routine additions, commercial renovations and retrofitting such as Pet Depot, Walgreens consultation rooms and many lobby lighting enhancements in the District. Whether you are looking for advice on energy audits and saving, recessed lighting installation or back-up generator consideration, we will lend our extensive experience working with residential and commercial projects of all sizes.

Teamwork and Expertise

Our company is founded on firm and tested values such as teamwork and integrity. We ensure our teams of professional electricians are well trained, vetted through a background check and field tested. Our commercial and government team members have on average 20 years of experience or/and hold a Master Electrician License. Most members of our teams have been working together for many years and have built strong bonds that transcend the job. We augment our field expertise with the most-advanced tools and equipment to perform our services. We are committed to sending a well prepared team to every project so it can completed be on time and within budget.

Project Management

Capital American Power stands apart from the competition because of its expert project management. While Peter is in the field ensuring that projects are carried out impeccably, Cathy Wague, our project manager is directing and communicating with clients, suppliers and the crew. She is a maestro in her craft and a fierce advocate for the client. She speaks Scope, Schedule and Budget and translates it as Quality.

Customer Relations Management

We understand that ultimately, the most important part of our business is “The Satisfied Client”. We take the time in the project management process to thoroughly assess and understand our customers which allows us to provide a highly customized and personalized service. Stefanie Sosa, our Customer Relations Manager is tireless when it comes to developing relationship strategies and programs that add value to our services and provide the most enjoyable customer experience. She supports the project manager with feedback by monitoring customer satisfaction and recommends approaches to better serve our customers.
