With over 32 years of tunneling and underground experience, Bob Stier brings superior knowledge and experience to SAK’s Atlantic Region.
Prior to joining SAK Bob worked as Area Manager for Kiewit in their Underground District. While at Kiewit, he worked on conventional Drill-and-Blast tunnels, Microtunnels and Pressurized Face operations, including hard rock and soft ground Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) projects. Bob has both direct field supervision and project management experience on major underground projects across the nation. As the Area Manager for the Northeast Region he was responsible for project estimates and project start-up for underground projects. While working under the role of Area Manager, Bob managed the Harlem River (Drill-and-Blast) Tunnel located in Manhattan, NY for Con Edison along with the Western Regional Conveyance (TBM Rock) Tunnel Project located in Fort Wright, KY.
In 2011, Bob became the Director of Business Development for Kiewit’s Underground District. As the Director of Business Development, Bob was responsible for developing strategic initiatives and potential new business line markets.
Before joining the Kiewit team, Bob worked as an Area Manager for Affholder Inc. where he was responsible for the project delivery and construction program for all west coast operations.
Bob graduated in 1986 from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology.
