Our Story

Our founder, Kermit B. Schulz, Sr. started the company as a small, two-person operation in 1946. Since that time, KBS has grown to be the premier residential HVAC company ineastern Massachusetts.

From a small two-man operation based in South Natick in 1946, the company grew in reputation quickly, and moved to Dedham in 1948.

As the ownership changed from father to son, Kermit Jr. moved the business to his home town of Millis, MA and continued building the company's now solid reputation in residential systems design and installations.

As the team and reputation grew, so did the business, which incorporated in 1984, and moved to a new larger shop on Union Street in Millis. A full HVAC Service Departement was added, as well as work in both plan/spec and design/build commercial projects.

In 1999, the ownership transferred to the third generation with Bob Schulz as President/Owner, and Chip Schulz as Vice President/Owner.

In 2002, added growth required a new location to a larger shop at their present location of 39 Norfolk Road in Millis. This was also the year that the company proudly saw a 30-year veteran, Brian McCurley promoted to the Installation Foreman position, and even more proud to watch the fourth family generation step into the day to day company management with Dan Lynn being promoted to the Service Manager position. Chip, Brian, and Dan all have proven track records as three of the best in the business, and form a residential job management and design team second to none in our state.

Throughout the years, our continued commitment to customer satisfaction, quality installations and service, ongoing training, and above all "honest work at a fair price", has aided in our continued success and growth, from that 2-man shop in 1946, to the company it is today.

We can assure our customers that 65 years and four generations later, when you call KBS you have made the best choice possible regarding your HVAC needs.

We fully guarantee it.
