Sometimes if you do what comes natural, you'll do what you do best.
That is the case for Christopher Smith. His building apprenticeship
began as a teenager working in the family usiness, Best Improvements,
one of the most respected masonry contractors in Greater Cincinnati.
Even then, Chris began to dream of having his own business. In 1991,
Chris made the move to found Christopher Homes Commercial Enterprises,
Inc. (CHCI) His first project was a subdivision in Beavercreek, a
Dayton suburb. His upscale homes were luickly purchased and Chris
then set his sights on his native Cincinnati. His Cincinnati
residential work is widespread, from the northern suburbs of Forest
Park, Mt. Healthy andSymmes Township to being a key player in the
renaissance of Avondale by building the showcase homes of Bishop
Herbert Thompson and Rev. Damon Lynch, Jr. Additionally, CHCI has
expanded into nonresidential aralias that include churches such as New
Jerusalem Baptist, New Life Baptist and the Church of Deliverance.
Building on the foundation laid by his father, Chris maintains
the family business unit using Best Improvements for the masonry work
on his projects while his mother Marie and sister aria handle the
administrative duties. Chris has been approached by the City of
Cincinnati to participate in Citirama and expanded his operations to
include part ownership of a aycare center, The Noah's Ark Child Care
Development Center. Success Guide.
