Fitzgerald Construction

I was born Ames and raised in Nevada, Iowa. My father owned Bob Fitzgerald and Son’s Painting and Decorating in the Story County area.

I started working in 1966 and continued until the fall of 1973 when I took over the business and continued to operate it for another two years.

40 Years of Serving Muscatine

I graduated from Iowa State University in May, 1975 with a degree in Industrial Education. That fall, I moved to Muscatine to take a teaching job with Muscatine Community School District.

For 35 years, I taught Industrial Technology classes that included Woodworking, Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Residential Wiring, Welding, CAD, Mechanical Drawing and Architecture.

While teaching, I continued working after school, weekends and summers until my retirement from the school district in May 2010. I am now full time to better serve you!

Kitchens, Bathrooms, and More...

During the past 40+ years, I have completed numerous residential jobs that included kitchens, basements and bath remodels as well as completed decks, window and door replacements, siding and soffit jobs and custom projects.

Light commercial jobs that I have completed would include the renovation of numerous offices and the conversion of storage rooms to lunchrooms, employee lounges and offices.  I have also completed additions and interior renovation on restaurants in the Muscatine area.
