Mike Woodson has been a key figure in the growth and development of
Davis & Associates, Inc. from the very start. He done the same in
the life of Gary Davis, his nephew. A proven leader in many arenas,
Mr. Woodson formerly was Indiana University’s standout player,
recently became the University’s head basketball coach.
Previously, Mr. Woodson served as the assistant coach for the Los
Angeles Clippers, and previously he was the head coach of the NBA’s
New York Knicks; and the Atlanta Hawks. After spending one extremely
successful season as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons, where
the team won the 2004 NBA Championship. Before going to Detroit, Mike
spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers. He
also served as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers
(1999-01) and the Milwaukee Bucks (1996-99).
As an NBA player, Mr. Woodson spent eleven (11) seasons playing for
seven different teams. He was drafted 12th in the 1980 NBA Draft by
the New York Knicks after graduating from Indiana University. While at
IU, Mike guided the Hoosiers to the 1979 NIT Championship and was
voted MVP of the tournament. He was named Big Ten Conference MVP in
1980. He was also a co-captain of the gold-medal winning 1979 U.S. Pan
American Games team.
