Our Story

Astbury delivers professional water treatment solutions built on over 40 years of operations and compliance experience.

Astbury’s unique approach provides its clients with the highest level of expertise available as efficiently, economically, and reliably as possible.

Founded in 1979 as the Louis B. Astbury Company, Inc., Astbury Water Technology, Inc. has built a strong reputation among clients and regulators alike in the areas of drinking water, wastewater, and industrial water treatment. Our turn-key environmental services include systems operations, maintenance, and rehabilitation, environmental compliance and regulatory consulting, field services, laboratory analysis, and utility billing and administration, and we operate throughout the state of Indiana, as well as parts of Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky.

When you make Astbury part of your team, you get the collective knowledge of our certified operators, technicians, and specialized maintenance personnel, as well as the benefit of best practices honed over 40-plus years in the industry, all without the hassle and expense of hiring in-house.

In particular, Astbury is deeply involved in the operation and maintenance of all types of water treatment systems. We have experience with most sizes of municipal, private, and industrial treatment systems and pretreatment programs. Additional services include specialized environmental sampling of all types, including routine collection and analysis of wastewater and groundwater samples, in-stream monitoring, storm water sampling, and Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) monitoring.

Beyond core capabilities, Astbury provides Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) treatment system operation, boiler and cooling water treatment services, lift station repairs and maintenance, and related water treatment chemical and equipment sales. We also distribute Pulsa Feeder metering pumps and Eastech flow meters and field testing equipment. In northern Indiana, we are a certified Environment One (E/One) grinder pump service center.

Together with affiliated full-service laboratory ESG Laboratories (ESG), Astbury employs around 75 professionals and is directly responsible for treating wastewater or drinking water for around 50,000 residents throughout Indiana and surrounding states. Through affiliate Buckthorne Public Service (Buckthorne), our organization also owns and operates regulated water and sewer utilities serving 4,500 residents in Indiana.
