Our Story

UDC Corporation (General Industrial/Commercial Contractors) was established by Mr. And Mrs. George Shaffer in 1983 as a full service general industrial contractor and commercial general contractor Southern California engineering design company. Being in the contracting business since 1960, the Shaffers’ had a vision to establish a firm that could provide diverse construction services to their customers. When they established the UDC Corporation, they founded four groups: General Industrial Construction Division, Mechanical Contractors Systems Division, Structural Steel Contractors Division, and Concrete Construction Contractors.

With a company history of strong building performance, quality products and services, they created a company respected for innovation and performance, at competitive prices in Southern California (CA).
