Our Story

Soil Engineering Construction, Inc. (SEC), is celebrating 40 years as a full service Design Build/Geotechnical Contractor serving all of California.

SEC’s History and Experience

Since founding the company 40 years ago, Bob Mahony, a registered civil and geotechnical engineer, has built an organization prepared to tackle a wide assortment of geotechnical challenges. SEC is a diversified geotechnical construction firm specializing in seawalls and retaining walls, as well as, slope and foundation stabilization systems. Our approach is to work closely with our clients and their consultants to optimize the constructability and cost effectiveness of each project. The firm operates on the principal that the obvious solution is not always the most cost efficient or best engineering solution. As a company, the owner, supervising engineers, field supervisors and employees take great pride in utilizing innovative engineering concepts to provide clients with the best product at the best price.

As a design/build company, SEC offers the benefit of dealing with a single firm for all phases of a project, knowing all project costs up front, and knowing those project costs are almost always the lowest in the region among quality providers.

SEC’s client list includes general contractors, engineers, architects, public agencies, homeowner associations, and owners of commercial, industrial, and residential properties.

SEC maintains 10-15 fully equipped construction crews and a professional staff of registered geotechnical and civil engineers, in addition to, state certified geologists and engineering geologists. We can provide a host of specialized geotechnical construction techniques and the specialized equipment for their application. SEC crews work through any conditions to get the project completed on time & on budget.
