Ideal Coatings LLC

Ideal Coatings, Inc. has been a part of Northern Indiana since 1975, when Ervin Miller, Senior first started Miller Flooring and started selling Dur-A-Flex products. Today, the company continues to be a family-run business centered in the picturesque Shipshewana community and serving broader Northern Indiana areas such as Granger, Nappanee, Elkhart, South Bend, Mishawaka and Middlebury.

Owners Dean Yoder, Merle Miller, and Ervin "Junior" Miller take a personal interest in each and every job, and treat every floor as if it were their own. Dean says, it's "more than just a floor". That means to Dean, Merle, and Junior, a floor is a visual foundation of a room, and it's what the entire décor depends on. A durable and polished floor can be a source of pride and constant admiration by visitors year in and year out. It's more than just a floor—it's a work of art.

The flooring business quickly flourished, and in 1997 became a full-time initiative on its own. In 2000, the company expanded beyond to specialize in epoxy flooring projects, which are well suited to high-t raffic and industrial environments. To reflect its broader scope, Miller's Custom Flooring became Ideal Coatings, Inc. In 2004, the company grew again when it merged with Merle's company, Ultra Custom Flooring.

Today, under Dean Yoder's expert leadership, the company has flourished and continues to be respected throughout the Shipshewana, Goshen, and Nappanee area, as well as the rest of Michiana as the premier expert in custom floors.
