The company slogan "Building Professionals since 1948" is the summation of its history. In 1948 Harold Bauer Construction began building new homes on the expanding East side of Wichita. A member of the Wichita Builders Association since 1952, and serving as President in 1960, Harold worked diligently at building a reputation for being a high quality residential contractor. Harold's twin sons, Gary and Greg began working in the family business while attending high school.

In 1977 Greg Bauer graduated from Kansas State University and the name changed to Harold Bauer & Son Construction Co. Inc. The over all focus of the company was still mostly residential. Both Harold and Greg continued to build on the company's reputation for high quality construction. In 1980 the company name changed again to Bauer & Son Construction Co., Inc. and began to direct its efforts more toward the commercial market. Still maintaining the company roots in residential building, Greg also served as President of the Wichita Builders Association in 1992. The celebration of the company's 60th anniversary in 2008 was marked by its complete transformation from a residential builder to a general contractor specializing in all sizes of remodel jobs through ground up construction projects.

Today, Bauer & Son Construction Company is a leading builder of residential, commercial, institutional & industrial projects in the Wichita area. It's continued growth has attracted some of the most knowledgeable management and field staff in the Wichita area.
