Scope Of Work

Nanotherapeutics, a privately-held emerging biopharmaceutical company with both proprietary platform technologies and a diversified pipeline of products, was interested in building a center that would provide reliable, cost-effective dedicated capability to the Department of Defense for developing innovative Medical Countermeasure (MCM) products against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.

Nanotherapeutics has expertise in pre-clinical and clinical development, formulation optimization, and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) of biopharmaceutical products and medical devices. Many of its products have multiple uses with potential in the areas of infectious diseases, central nervous system, oncology, vaccines, and bio-defense.

RS&H was selected to design the Advanced Development and Manufacturing (ADM) Center. As part of a design-build team and prime architect, RS&H developed the facility master plan and leads the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil engineering subconsultants, while providing in-house architectural, laboratory programming, planning and design, landscape architecture, and structural engineering consulting services.

The facility will provide research and QC laboratories, bio-containment laboratories and production areas, a pilot plant, a warehouse, administration offices, and a conference center. Each area was designed for future individual expansion, if desired.
