Our Story

Our family has been serving the people of Greenwich since our founder, John L. Duge came to Greenwich in 1900. His first project in town was "Northway", the copy of the Petit Trianon on the East side of North Street just above North Street School. After Northway, he went on to build the original 40 buildings on Conyers Farm, including the original Manor House. We also built many of the other "Great Estates of Greenwich" including the Rockefeller Estate, the Simmons Estate, the Beinecke Estate, Horse Island and many others. We have built many streets and subdivisions in Town including Evergreen Rd., Indian Chase Dr, Mead Point, Milbrook, St. Claire Ave., Glen Court, and others. We have also built and remodeled numerous custom homes for many delighted clients all over town over the years. In addition to our residential work we can also handle commercial projects. Some of our local commercial projects include our own office and headquarters in downtown Greenwich, The original Electrolux factory in Old Greenwich, the Fitzsimmons Building, The Fawcett Publications Building, The Chapel at Christ Church, The auditorium building at the rear of Christ Church, St Barnabus Church, The Burning Tree Country Club, The Milbrook Club, an addition to Greenwich Hospital, an addition to the old "Putnam Trust" building, an addition to the YMCA, an addition to Greenwich Academy, as well as Office and Retail Buildings throughout town. We have also done Municipal Construction including the original Incinerator building at the Transfer Station, Montgomery Pinetum buildings, and smaller buildings in Bruce Park. In addition to building many historic buildings in town we have also restored some that predate our arrival in town, such as the Putnam Cottage.

Today we are owned and operated by John A. Duge, Jr., who holds an engineering degree from the University of Connecticut and has over 20 years experience on construction sites. No job is too big or too small, all work gets the attention of the owner and our master craftsmen can perform all types of work Residential and Commerical. If you're in the Greenwich area and are looking for a contractor who "Builds them like they used to" The choice is simple. Duge Construction Co. Please Call Us at (203) 869-3844.
