D & V Sound, Inc.

DV Sound was founded in 1995 by a friend David Vaughn. He contracted cancer and had a year to live. I was retiring from Mare Island Naval Shipyard at 47 and wondered what I would do. David wondered what would happen to his company. I started my apprenticeship as an electrician in 1969 and have held positions as a journeyman electrician, electronics mechanic, planner and estimator and contracts administrator. My hobby was designing and building speakers and amplifiers. My background was perfect for Audio/Video work. As friends we talked and agreed I would take over DV Sound. I obtained a C10 contractor’s license and have been operating since 1996. David set me up with AEI and DMX as a subcontractor. I also worked for Muzak, Playnetwork and Leibold Communications. I have been perfecting my skills in residential and commercial Audio/Video systems ever since.

DV Sound has designed, installed and maintained Audio/Video systems in residential and commercial applications. I have completed work for a vast array retailers. DV Sound has installed systems in virtually every mall from Sacramento to San Jose from the coast to Stockton. Nordstroms has been my primary customer since 2008. They have the most complex Audio/Video systems of any retailer I know of. DV Sound specializes in whole store music and page, conference rooms, computer based advertising video displays, sound system integration with the phone and fire alarm systems, portable Audio/Video systems for in-store meetings and more. We are familiar with wired and wireless microphone systems, projectors and televisions for entertainment and computer display, analog and digital signal processors, surveillance cameras and wired and wireless control systems as well.
