Scope Of Work

Lendlease was selected to provide both core and shell and fit out for the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center.

Lendlease was one of the first responders after the attacks of September 11, 2001 and was honored to return to the site in an effort to bring closure through the construction of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. This hallowed landmark bear's comparison to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, World War II Memorial, Iwo Jima Monument, and the Korean and Vietnam War Memorials.

The Memorial is located in the center of New York City's financial center on the former site of the World Trade Center. The predominant outdoor features of the Memorial are a landscaped plaza approximately 184,000 square feet and the two reflecting pools marking the Twin Tower footprints at 31,264 square feet each.

The Museum occupies approximately 110,000 gross square feet of space spread over five below grade levels. These levels include lobby, security, visitor services, assembly, administrative, exhibition, education, support service and loading bay spaces.

The Memorial and Museum achieved LEED-NC v2.2 Gold Certification, as did the Pavilion, under two distinct certifications.
