Greetings! I am currently employed with a great construction company, Access Pacific, Inc, that is located in Pasadena, CA. I hold a dual position as a Human Resources and Labor Compliance Manager. I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Project Management. My personal interests are listening to music (as well as playing it), trying different foods, and hiking. I would love to learn from anyone who is willing to share some of their wisdom with me!
HUMAN RESOURCES REPSONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the recruitment process i.e, resume tracking, scheduling interviews, etc.
- Prepare new hire/orientation files and maintain employee files (I-9's, W-4's, company application forms)
- Administer benefit and insurance packages
- Execute the onboarding process for new-hires
- Research, plan, distribute, assign, and schedule training for current employees
- Respond to federal, state, and local inquiries regarding employee status, wages, etc.
- Assist in mitigating labor relations issues at all levels in organization
- Prepare reports for employee PTO, employee demographics, and other reports requested by upper management
- Research, analyze, produce company/employee policies and processes
COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor compliance documentation from Access Pacific, Inc. and Subcontractors
- Ensure the company's good-standing in all projects' critical path by collecting, reviewing, and submitting compliance documents in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Conduct periodic Project Labor Agreement meetings with unions to convey contractor scopes of work, preventing jurisdictional issues.
- Serve as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
- Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or employees.
- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.
- Provide employee and subcontractor training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
BID CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in completing and delivering construction bid packages for submission
- Review bid specs for compliance requirements and perform outreach
