Our Story

Town and Country Land Works has been family owned and operated since 2007.  The company was started from a passion for being outdoors, a determination to produce quality work, and the aspiration to own a successful company.  With these forces driving them, Town and Country Land Works quickly escalated from a high-quality lawn mowing service provider to one of the most dedicated and passionate excavating and landscaping contractors serving central Indiana.

Town and Country Land Works was founded by brothers Matthew and Nicholas Marks. Their careers started as young men, mowing a few lawns on the weekends.  Equipped with a small mower, trimmer, and blower, they soon mastered their craft.  Before long, they were maintaining lawns and addressing landscape needs for multiple types of customers.  The Marks brothers are always trying to push their skills and knowledge, which has led them to the excavation arena.  Matt and Nick have always had a passion for operating equipment as kids.  This has pushed Town and Country Land Works into multiple divisions of lawncare, landscaping, and excavating.

Town and Country Land Works understands that in order to achieve the utmost success, a natural interest in the business is necessary.  With every piece of landscaping art or site excavations that they complete, they do not look to abide by standards, but to set them.  The Marks brothers and their staff have collaborated to establish a wide variety of services in the landscaping and excavating arenas.  These services include lawn care and maintenance, design/build, landscape installation, site improvements, retaining walls, building pad installations, site work, erosion control, and snow services.

Town and Country Land Works has worked exceptionally hard to build an outstanding reputation.  The company has done this by hiring professionally trained and educated employees, working with customers to give them the best service possible, and using the latest technologies in equipment, products, and cultural practices and procedures.  Whether you are a commercial business, general contractor, or builder/developer, we understand that your site is just as important to you as your building or house.  With proven strategies and services, Town and Country Land Works can increase your property value with every project.
