James W. Ancel, Sr. has always had a passion for architecture and building construction. After attending high school at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore, Mr. Ancel went on to graduate from Lehigh University with a BA in Civil Engineering. He returned to his hometown and founded his independent general contracting business in 1988. Since completing his first elementary school project, the work of James W. Ancel, Inc. has proven to be diligent and reliable, excelling in construction quality and time management. For over three decades he has contracted multi-million dollar jobs, including banks, parking garages, medical facilities, correctional facilities, aviation, wastewater treatment facilities, schools and award winning hotels. James W. Ancel, Inc. has completed successful projects for NASA, the United States Army Reserve, and the Baltimore Washington International Airport. To this day, the company strives to complete projects on or ahead of schedule and provide an excellent quality of workmanship while continuing to give back to the community.
