Our Story
In 1958, Gene Mothersbaugh, the patriarch of Akron Glass Tinting (my dad), started selling and installing a liquid solar control product. The ancestor of the window film that we provide today was invented in 1968 by 3M. Gene gladly shifted his focus to this new technology, and we have never looked back.
Our simple beginnings as a “Ma & Pop” business began with my mom, Linda, answering phones at the kitchen table over coffee and paperwork, and Gene selling and installing the film. As teens, my brother, Dan & I helped with the installs. I can still remember my parents saying the phrase, “100% satisfaction” to each and every one or our customers. It didn’t matter if it was one bathroom window or an entire office building, leaving our customers thrilled has been in our DNA from the beginning.
Over 55 years later, AGT has grown into a regional leader in the window film industry, all due to this philosophy: Each customer that grants us the opportunity to help them will be 100% satisfied.
