The Blue Book of Building and Construction Introduces
BPM Select – A Smarter Building Product Search Engine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 15, 2009

Westchester, N.Y. –The Blue Book of Building and Construction officially launched a free, Internet-based building product search engine. BPM Select is powered by The Blue Book and integrated with licensed technology by Google.

BPM Select was developed for the AEC Community (architects, engineers and contractors) and enables users to search for building products within an exclusive, highly targeted database of national and regional manufacturer websites. Organized by the industry’s CSI divisions, BPM Select returns only relevant building product manufacturer websites, rather than the mass of mixed results typically returned by the major search engines.

BPM Select also offers direct access to The Blue Book database for sourcing related suppliers and installers of the specific building products selected – all within the user’s current workflow.

"The Blue Book continues to develop products and services aimed at simplifying the preconstruction process for the AEC Community. After hearing from many architects and other construction professionals who have a need to find products, manufacturers and suppliers, we realized the challenges and frustration the industry faces. Search results often return a lot of irrelevant ‘noise’ and it is time-consuming to sort through it all. We’re confident BPM Select will quickly become a powerful solution for our users to search, spec and source building products," explained Rich Johnson, General Manager of The Blue Book.
